MohnMercantile vs Last-Mile Delivery Apps
The category of delivery/route tools — Onfleet, Shipday, Routific and similar — built for dispatching any fleet. Strong at the driver/dispatch layer; not built for distribution operations.

Where Last-Mile Delivery Apps genuinely shines
Businesses that only need dispatch and tracking — couriers, meal delivery, field services — where the order, warehouse, and invoicing live elsewhere and just need trucks routed.
- ✓Good dispatch UX — live maps, driver apps, customer notifications
- ✓Fast to start — sign up and dispatch same day
- ✓Purpose-built for the last-mile problem they solve
Where the gap is
They start at the truck
Delivery apps assume the order already exists. They don't run the retailer portal, the pick ticket, the warehouse board, the account pricing, the returns, or the settlement — the 80% of a distributor's operation that happens before wheels move.
No concept of accounts
Distribution is account-based: pricing tiers, pars, standing orders, credit terms, COD rules per customer. Generic apps see stops, not relationships.
Another system to bolt on
Your order system, warehouse system, and accounting already exist — a delivery app becomes a fourth seam to maintain instead of replacing the seams you have.

The honest verdict
If you run a courier fleet, use a courier tool. But a distributor isn't a delivery company with a warehouse attached — the warehouse, the accounts, and the money are the operation, and delivery is the last mile of it. MohnMercantile is built around that reality: the delivery layer is excellent because everything feeding it is native, not integrated.

Körber's route accounting system — one of the legacy platforms long-standard in beverage distribution. It's the kind of system many independent distributors have run for decades: on-premise terminals, office-site networking, paper-heavy workflows.
MohnMercantile vs Encompass Technologies
The enterprise heavyweight of beverage distribution software — a full ERP covering ordering, warehouse, delivery, accounting, and supplier networks (they also acquired DSDLink). Powerful, comprehensive, and priced and staffed accordingly.
MohnMercantile vs Pepper
A polished B2B ordering platform — strong in foodservice, where it gives distributors' customers a modern ordering app. It does the customer-facing order intake layer well.
